Ebola virus is reported as one of the largest epidemics in history having an impact in multiple West Africa countries and has killed at least 4,922 people (as of 27 October 2014) in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is now calling the outbreak as a global emergency, no longer seen as a distant problem.
Some infected healthcare workers have been sent back to their original countries for further treatment. On September 17, 2014 – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reported that a French nurse volunteering in Liberia has been diagnosed with Ebola and has then received the experimental treatment. Then in early October, the French health ministry announced and confirmed that the nurse is now cured and discharged from the hospital. There are also other cases of healthcare workers being treated in many countries in Western Europe.
Knowing this situation and the way the Ebola virus appears in the news, what is your opinion? How do you feel about the current situation?
